Will Rimblades® Original protect my wheel rims?
Rimblades® Original are designed to be a sacrificial product and will protect from light curb strikes
I've just had my wheels painted. Can I use Rimblades® Original?
We only recommend using Rimblades® Original if repaired or repainted wheels have
been done to a high standard and had sufficient time to cure and harden.
Do Rimblades® Orignal effect wheel balance?
No, as the weight is equal around the wheel’s circumference.
Have Rimblades® Orignal been tested?
Rimblades® Original have been fully tested by Millbrook for high speed endurance, various road surfaces and curb strikes at various angles. Additionally the tape bond has been laboratory tested by 3M and digital simulation conducted. We have also passed car manufacturers OE testing through a 10,000 KM continual endurance test.
I have a brand new car. Will it be OK to fit Rimblades® Original?
Some manufacturers and dealerships will coat new wheels with an anti-brake dust coating. This will inhibit Rimblades® Original's performance and needs to be scrubbed off prior to fitting. Check with your dealership as to whether your wheels have been treated.
Will Rimblades® Original stick to my wheels?
Because alloy wheel rims have have different finishes and could be painted, powder coated, polished, chromed, diamond cut or even have stainless steel lips you have to make the surface universally suitable for bonding the tape to. This is why we include a specially formulated
primer to increase the surface energy on the wheel surface to enable the tape to bond sufficiently.
Will Rimblades® Original come off and damage my car?
Rimblades® Original have been designed purposely out of a lightweight and flexible polymer, so if they were to come off no damage should be caused if you stop immediately. Once they have fully bonded, Rimblades® Original will give a lasting bond if properly applied. Rimbades® Original have been endurance tested by Millbrook at a consistent 125mph and successfully completed a 10,000 KM continual endurance test.

Are Rimblades® Original easy to fit?
Yes. Anyone can fit Rimblades products with no mechanical experience required.
What tools do I need to fit Rimblades® Original?
A pencil or craft knife and a pair of scissors. In cold weather a hot air gun or hairdryer too.
How long do Rimblades® Original take to fit?
Around 5 to 10 minutes per wheel.
What tips do you have for fitting Rimblades® Original?
The VHB tape and primer we supply should provide a superb bond, but there are things that should be considered. In cold or damp conditions you will be bonding to a damp surface due to moisture in the air. Warm the surfaces and ensure they are totally dry. A simple hairdryer could be used or a hot air gun if you have access to one. Rimblades® Original also require very firm pressure as the tape is pressure activated.
What will inhibit Rimblades® Original from bonding to my wheels?
Any silicone left over from tire and wheel cleaners or tire lubrication
spray will totally stop adhesion. Wheels need to be totally free of all
contaminants.
Can I fit Rimblades® Original before my tires?
No, Rimblades® Original need to be fitted so they don’t touch the
tire. Flex in the tire if touching the Rimblades product can push them
over time weakening the bond.
Can I have a new tyre fitted with Rimblades® Original already fitted?
It is possible yes, but depends on your tire dealer. We recommend replacing Rimblades® Original at the time of a tyre change.
How do I remove Rimblades® Original?
Remove by pulling at a 45 degree angle. Soak the tape residue in our VHB cleaner and it will turn it into an easy to remove jelly wiped off in minutes.
